Demo Abstract: An Affordable, Long-Lasting, and Autonomous Theft Detection and Tracking System
نویسندگان
چکیده
The AutoWitness project aims to deter, detect, and track theft of everyday objects using a combination of ultra lowpower mobile tags and a wide-area network of static anchors. Key research challenges include dramatically driving down the cost and size of tags and increasing their lifetime, discriminating between normal activities and theft using motion detection and classification algorithms, reconstructing getaway trajectories from sparse anchor rendezvous, and ensuring sufficient coverage and connectivity in a sparse, widearea network of anchors. The demonstration will show AutoWitness in operation including motion detection, classifying theft signatures, and tracking the trajectories of “stolen” objects near the conference venue.

Design of Robust Finite-Time Nonlinear Controllers for a 6-DOF Autonomous Underwater Vehicle for Path Tracking Objective
In this paper, kinematic and dynamic equations of a 6-DOF (Degrees Of Freedom) autonomous underwater vehicle (6-DOF AUV) are introduced and described completely. By developing the nonsingular terminal sliding mode control method, three separate groups of control inputs are proposed for the autonomous underwater vehicle subjected to uncertainties including parametric uncertainties, unmodeled dyn...
متن کاملInteraction between Face Detection and Learning Tracking Systems for Autonomous Robots
Domestic service robots are becoming increasingly available and affordable. However, interaction with the real world is still a challenge. Fast and reliable visual perception is one of these challenges. Systems that track the target over time are fast and can yield good results because they exploit temporal coherence, but they often need manual initialization. In this study, such a tracking sys...
متن کاملIntelligent Auto pilot Design for a Nonlinear Model of an Autonomous Helicopter by Adaptive Emotional Approach
There is a growing interest in the modeling and control of model helicopters using nonlinear dynamic models and nonlinear control. Application of a new intelligent control approach called Brain Emotional Learning Based Intelligent Controller (BELBIC) to design autopilot for an autonomous helicopter is addressed in this paper. This controller is applied to a nonlinear model of a helicopter. This...
متن کاملDesign of an Intelligent Controller for Station Keeping, Attitude Control, and Path Tracking of a Quadrotor Using Recursive Neural Networks
During recent years there has been growing interest in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Moreover, the necessity to control and navigate these vehicles has attracted much attention from researchers in this field. This is mostly due to the fact that the interactions between turbulent airflows apply complex aerodynamic forces to the system. Since the dynamics of a quadrotor are non-linear and the ...
متن کاملTowards an affordable mobile analysis platform for pathological walking assessment
This paper proposes an affordable mobile platform for pathological gait analysis. Gait spatiotemporal parameters are of great importance in clinical evaluation but often require expensive equipment and are limited to a small and controlled environment. The proposed system uses state-of-the art robotic tools, in contrast to their original use, for the development of a robust low-cost diagnostic ...
